I was admitted to Queens Hospital, suffering from what my doctor called “Acute Hypoxic Respiratory Failure,” brought on by COVID-19 pneumonia. In other words, I was not getting enough oxygen and my body was shutting down. The hospital kept me alive, but I was in no shape to go home. My doctor referred me to Holliswood Center for my recovery and rehab. What a great choice! The therapy team—physical, occupational and speech—taught me to walk, talk, breathe and eat again. After six weeks, I was healthier, stronger, and able to go back to my home and family. Thank God—and the Holliswood Center team!
